While doing the crank sensor and VCG on my x3 I closed the hood at the end of the day, I did know know the windscreen plastics at the bottom were all broken as well as the rubber that seals against the glass. Long story short it rained overnight, and when I went to work on it this morning found water from the storm was going down into engine...
Any suggestions would be helpful, I'm pulling the plugs and draining the oil... VC and Intake manifold are off..... Now covered with a trash bag and windshield taped and sealed also....
LOL plastic junk :-)
So, valve cover was off and water got in? Drain the oil and refill.
If plugs were out spin the motor over on the starter to sure not enough water to hydrolock it, a small squirt of oil in each cyl, re-install the plugs fire it up and forget about it.
If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark Donohue
