So I recently changed out my inline secondary thermostat that was causing coolant to leak. After filling her up with coolant I don't get no coolant coming out of the bleed screw on my main thermostat. And on top of that my coolant resivoir is full and doesn't seem to be going down. Any help here
There's a lot of good thread on bleeding the e30 coolant system. I just replaced all my hoses and bled the system. I might be wrong, but...how long did you let the car idle? It might not have gotten hot enough to open the thermostat and start entering the radiator. Keep an eye on the temp needle while the car idles to make sure it's not overheating while you do that. It may also help to carefully squeeze the coolant hoses to help push out air a bit with the bleed screw open.

Also have the heat on full blast so while you let the car idle as well. When the air finally gets hot you'll know hot coolant is getting into the heater core.
Have you changed your main thermostat recently? If so I would check to make sure it is orientated correctly so the vent hole is in the 12 o clock position?
Here's a great fill procedure. https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...6#post28749366

Silly question, but I replaced my thermostat and neglected to pay attention to the orientation I put it in. The car now runs at operating temp with the coolant gauge below halfway, it used to run with it perfect center. Could that be an artifact of a misaligned thermo, or that's no biggie?
