Been a while since I came back on this thread, been f’kin busy! A lot has gone on, can’t imagine how I have not popped a round in my head yet, Why? Well sheeit, life is good! Thats why. Just worried about how the stupid current administration is playing around with my feelings….. Bunch of f’kin idiots.

Like I said, been busy, work, moving my overflow hording condition crap from the two car garage I was renting, four miles away from my house, into a 10x20 storage unit. Why? Because of stupid, that’s why. The lady I was renting the garage from, took in a moron stooge that rented out her basement. The stupid idiot came home, not two weeks after he moved in, cigarette in his mouth, passed out in bed. Woke up because of the heat, bed was on fire, idiot ran out of the house, instead of manning up and putting the fire out, by the time the fire department put the stupid fire out, the whole basement was wasted. Idiot kid didn’t even have the decency to get any burns on his stupid useless ass. The lady got a huge insurance settlement, pocketed the money and sold the property to some dude thats just gonna tear the house down and build a new one. So I had to scramble and move all my wheels, tires, parts, rc airplanes, and motorcycles out. I’d like to get my hands on that idiot and finish him off for all the bs he caused me. At least thats all done now, and the storage unit is costing me $50 less a month, but….. just give me five minutes in a room with that idiot, really, only need 15 seconds….

A couple weeks ago, I jumped on a 2001 330Ci convertible, got it at a low price, it’s not perfect, needs a new convertible roof frame, old one has a crack in a bad spot that just can’t be welded, down at the main bracket where all the main pivoting sections connect, the car came with the replacement frame, I need to pull the cloth off the old frame, lots of drilling out rivets, pull the frame off the car, and install the new one, then re-install the cloth top. Done it before, it’s a pain in the ass, but I did get the car for a steal, because of it. The rest of the car just needs a few things, mainly cleaning up and a good detail. Came with good Michelin AS3’s, all new cooling system, all parts from the dealership, the grilles need looking at, maybe replacement, passenger side pork chop is all messed up, has a small valve cover gasket leak. Not bad, the car is gonna get flipped, need to put more toy money in my toy money account. But damn it, the car is so nice, kinda sucks that I’m gonna flip it. Gave it a quick wash and a wax last weekend.

Another gift that was given to me recently. Great to have good friends!

It came with two 15 round mags, the newest versions come with 17 round mags, I picked up a few 17 rounders, and a couple 20 round magazines, oem HK mags are not cheap, then I found out that the company that makes all my speed loaders, ETS also makes great polymer magazines for HKs, they have 17, 21, 30, and 40 round mags, so I ordered a couple of 30 and 40 round mags, $21.99 for the 30, $26.99 for the 40, less than half price for what I paid for on the HK 17 rounders! Also ordered a couple of their 30 round AR polymer mags. I always use Magpul, but wanted to try these out for a change.

How many miles on the convertible? The inside looks like it's in good shape.

85,000 miles. Cars in generally good shape, it was sort of filthy, po had an accident three years ago, fell off a roof, broke his pelvis and right leg badly, he had taken care of it, then kinda let things go because of his injuries. Still need to clean it up more, but I ws able to get it at a great price because the convertible frame needs to be replaced., check engine light is on, have not dug into that yet.

It takes balls of steel to drive these at the limit*. Imagine "relaxing" at near 250 MPH down the Mulsanne straight, raining and in the dark.
All versions of it conquered, no decimated, their competition.
I've seen the 917-30 (car that killed CanAm) in action at a vintage event. Had a chance to speak with one of Mark Donohue's old mechanics from Penske. The qualifying stories are true; crank up just enough boost to put it on pole then back it down to 1000 hp or so worth. These are amazingly docile at idle. To witness the assault on your senses that is the rat motored McLaren's frantic and thundering idle and then hear the 917 calmly motor by you'd swear the German was in for a whooping.
    * at Road America while the 917-30 was on track for some demonstration laps I was standing next to Brian Redman at the hot pit wall. After the car had passed a few times I asked him if he wished to drive one again. With typical British understatement he said "not like that".
Speaking of "not like that" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evYtznxI0yc
An interesting comparison with its peers; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81uMpafSwxo

I’ve done 208mph on my 2000 ZX12R many many times, bike will go faster, but everytime I would get into the 205mph neighborhood, I would have to shut down, due to running out of room, traffic up ahead, way up ahead, se,, at 200, as far up ahead as you are looking, in the blink of an eye, you just passed that point. I don’t really think big balls are needed, just an addiction for higher speeds, and the feeling of euphoria that you get at those speeds. It also helps if you have a lack of the regard for the law when doing so, out on the highways…. 208 seemed to be my barrier for some stupid reason. On paper, without the wind factored in, the bike should hit 215 with what I had done in the bikes engine. Never gonna sell that bike, it’s kinda like my private time warp machine.

Knowing the natural resting position of a motorcycle I stay away from them.
Its only private until it involves someone else.
Hope you have your organ donor card filled out, not that there'd be much left to choose from at 200.

Dude, I have had friends long gone, due to low speed crashes. Different circumstances, you could trip and fall, crack your head open. Just have to know how to fall properly without reaching out to what you’re about to hit, snap bones. I have been extremely lucky, I guess, I have gone down at 145, couple bruises, achy back, busted up bike, but I walked away, wear the proper gear, next day, was out riding one of my other bikes with the same gang, the night before. Did I learn my lesson? Hell no! We were hitting speeds up to 190 that following evening.

Good commercial, a 66 Impala. Looks like it was a 396cu in.
    Leo’s got a 65 Chevelle with a 496, saw him about 6 weeks ago.

Yup, Leo has been up in the Santa Fe area for maybe 4 months. He’s been to my house a few times and we met for lunch at The Mineshaft Tavern in Madrid, NM.

f**kin' thread is cool...! Snotty tossed up a good'un.

just checked on my post in the E70 thread about tempting fate by using the all-metal water pump in my e70 over this metal/plastic adaptive drive specific POS that cracked after 50k miles...

116 views and the only one to reply was myself....!! what the total f**k..!?!?!? you e39/e39 Touring guys would have given an outpouring of advice.
