Hey guys just got the oem corner splitters and am confused on how to install them.
1) do they work with oem porkchops
2) do you have to remove the bumper lip and install it on the lip first then reinstall to bumper as one piece?
3) do you drill into the oem lip?
You connect them to the oem lip with the same bolts that hold oem lip in place.
Yep. What M3kiwi said. The corner splitters have the same bolt pattern as the stock lip.
I used nylock nuts so they can't come loose.
This was one of the very first things i put on my car when I purchased it.
I saw a Euro GT E36 and fell in love with that look and had to have a pair.
I too purchased Genuine BMW items.
Stay away from those cheap and nasty ABS plastic counterfeits..
"cheap and nasty ABS plastic counterfeits.."
depends on how low you've gone.
Low as in ride height ?, I'd even be extra careful as in my case with stock height + splitters.
You will scrape them if you park nose in first and the front goes over the curbing. Stock E36 M3s with NO corner splitters will clear the curbing, but WON'T with the splitters.
I found out the hard way as I forgot one time these were on and I scraped mine, much to my disgust, I ordered a 2nd set cos I couldn't handle them being this way. i still have them actually and I may restore them and sell them at some point.
Scraped or ripped off?
It would take a fair amount of force to rip them off, they they will surely scrape and if it's low enough It will compress it as it drags over the kerbing. They won't take too much punishment. You usually learn after the first brush.
I was going to take some photos of mine and how they are mounted for you but I forgot. My car is stored elsewhere and don't get out there often. Maybe in the next couple of weeks I'll be heading over to do my Transmission fluid flush.
If you are still interested, I'll try and take some detailed photos for you.

Next question. Did these come primered or some sort of coating from the factory? Texture looks different than the lip and practically peels off with finger nails
Can I ask where you purchased them from ?
Are they Original BMW items ?
It is possible the seller may have painted them so they "match" in color. Not sure, but the flakey paint is not acceptable if they are Genuine OEM.
Mine are Genuine BMW and they appear to be finished nicely. Not sure if they are coated at the factory post molding or what, but whatever the case, an industrial coating should never flake like that. To me, I suspect they've been painted with a rattle can.
