    A little help

How about some help ! My top is stuck in the closed position. I'm trying to remove the shelf in the trunk. I've removed the clips but the Shelf is loose but will not come out. It is tight against the turn knob and when I pull on it the rubber strip on the shelf edge wants to come off. Any ideas ? I've looked at numerous videos and the shelf seems to come out easy.

If my top had been in the up position, the shelf would have come out easier. After looking at dozens of DYI , YouTube videos, I thought that by removing the shelf I would have access to a hydraulic line that I might cut if I had no other option to raise my top.

If everything were working correctly you should be able to pull the handle and bypass the hydraulics. But it is possible that something is rusting and not allowing it to release. I knew somebody with this same problem and he had somebody press and hold the top up button while at the same time he manually (physically) pushed the top up. It was not easy but it did work. From that point it was easier to troubleshoot.

I wish it was working correctly also. I got the top up about 2feet today ,having my wife help me. Just not enough ass between the two of us. I'll keep playing with the red cable and perhaps get someone to help with the lifting and someone else to push the button. Thanks for the advice. I went for a long ride today. The car runs perfectly except for the top.

Yep - get a helper to get that top up and you will be able to troubleshoot it a whole lot better. I went for a ride in mine today...felt great to get outta the house and get some Vitamin D.
