2016 750i - best extended warranty?

Posting this for a buddy because I'm the "BMW guy" in our group. He's got a 2016 750i he bought new, just turned 30,000 miles. His warranty is expiring for time and he's debating an extended warranty as he's had a few high $$$ repairs already (computer stuff mostly).

The dealership offered him 3 years/30,000 for $7500. I think that's high but then, I convinced my dad to buy a Warranty Gold warranty for his Acura and they went belly up. Also the MB dealership sold a friend of mine a warranty that refuses to pay for "preexisting issues" with the engine that he "should have had remedied under factory warranty" (i.e. they don't cover "known issues" with certain cars).

Anyone know a good, comprehensive warranty that both won't break the bank and will allow him to be covered at the dealership or an independent.

I always advise against the extended warranty, but if you had to have one, I'd recommend the BMW warranty because what I've seen, it's the most comprehensive. The warranty they offered him, was it the "BMW Extended Service Contract"? Or was it a third party warranty? But $7500 is insane.

He's much, much better off putting a few thousand dollars aside in case any issues come up. If they don't, then he kept his money. What's the difference in him paying the repairs, vs him paying the warranty company, and then they pay for the repair? If the companies weren't making profit, then they wouldn't be selling them.
