Hi, I've bought a 1995 BMW M3 e36 3.0 239kw.
I'm in Spain and I know the car was imported from Germany. I've tried to find the model but it seems like a small edition.
I'll post here the info I have in case someone can help me to know more info about the car.

Thanks in advance.

Post the VIN or check in the VIN decoder https://www.mdecoder.com/
Moved to M3 forum
Shogun tricks and tips for the E32 series are HERE!
This is the complete card with VIN:
And here is the VIN result: https://www.mdecoder.com/decode/jf80495 and it doesn't match. If you see on VIN decoder says 210 KW and on the green card says 239KW. That why I don't really know what I have
Thanks
Sorry, i don't really understand your question.
and i don't see any card. did you mean to upload anything ?
You have a 1995 e36 3.0 Liter M3 with 210KW or 286HP. There was never a 3.0 Liter with 239KW. That website you linked there is nonsense. The 3.0 Liter only had 210KW or later a little more, 217KW. And after that, around end of 1995 they started the M3 with the 3.2 Liter engine, and that had 236KW or 321HP.
Post some pictures from the engine in your car to see what engine is in there. I have no idea what "MST" means, the only website that "MST" related to e36 m3 shows up on google is the website you linked and another website that takes it's data from there, so i think that website is nonsense.

Hi samy01, if you check the car data sheet says 239KW, thats the point. I attach the motor photo.
Thanks.
I don't know what you're talking about. I don't see any "car data sheet" except that website that has false information. And i don't see any motor photo anywhere.
I've attached images, but it seems it doesn't work on mobile, but I can see them on computer.
Can you check please?
Thanks dude!
you did not attach any image, try the test forum first https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/f...hp?123-Testing

Yes, now we can see the images and can enlarge them. That paper shows probably the taxable kW in Spain, not the real, 239 it is just related to taxes in Spain it looks to me. The engine mentioned is the normal Eng.Code: S50B30 306S1

That power number on your spanish paper is wrong, or like shogun said, something about tax or whatever. You have a Euro M3 e36 3.0 with 286 HP.
The power number on the Spanish paper is fiscal/tax horsepower, translated: DEFINITION AND CALCULATION OF FISCAL POWER, (CVF) : In Spain, Annex V of the General Vehicle Regulation, approved by R.D. 2822/1998, of December 23, defines the method for calculating the fiscal power of vehicle engines, expressed in fiscal horsepower (CVF), and which can also be obtained from the following expression: CVF = T · N · (C ⁄ N) 0.6 being: CVF, the value of the resulting tax power, expressed in horsepower (CV), T, is a dimensionless coefficient that can take the following values: 0.08 for four-stroke internal combustion or explosion engines, or 0.11 for two-stroke internal combustion or explosion engines, C, displacement in cm3, N is the number of cylinders of the engine. Fiscal power is a concept that has no relation to the real power that the engine can develop and that is determined by means of test benches, but is a value that is used to determine the Tax on Mechanical Traction Vehicles, hence its prosecutor nickname. Here is an example: Be an industrial vehicle with a displacement of 5,861 cc and 6 cylinders. Applying the above equation results: CVF = 0.08 · 6 · (5.861 ⁄ 6) 0.6 = 29.86 CV .The previous value is expressed in horsepower (CV), which is an original measurement of the Decimal Metric System, but it can also be expressed in kW (International System of Units) according to the following equivalence relation: 1 CV = 735,498 W ≈ 735 W = 0.735 kW. So the previous value of fiscal power (CVF), but expressed in kW, would turn out to be: CVF = 29.86 CV = 21.95 kW. Finally, it should be remembered that the horsepower (CV) should not be confused with the horsepower (CV), or also called horsepower, of the Anglo-Saxon system of units, and named with the letters hp, HP or Hp.
The relationship of the English horsepower (HP) with the horsepower (CV) and with the International System (S.I.) is as follows:1 HP = 1.0138 CV = 745.69987 W, 1 CV = 0.9863 HP = 735.49875 W

But the second number says is real power and it says 239KW that are 324,94 CV. I don't understand
What is not to understand ? You have a M3 3.0 with 286HP. There is nothing else. If a paper says something else it is wrong. I won't help you anymore, you are getting on my nerves.
there was a couple of 3L besides the 210kW, there was 220kW GT and M3R 242kw. ive not seen 239kW version.
i guess if you wrongly convert 321 bhp to kw you get 239kW

BMW E30 325is M20B33 in the making....... ITB's, roller rockers and stroked to the hilt
Never in the history of E36 have I heard of a 3LT having 239KW. Unless it's a GT then...
I'd say that there is a lot of mis information out there and sometimes paperwork can be wrong.
The VIN tells the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help us God.
I don't normally do this, but I'm going to go ahead and hijack this thread..
I too accept this premise, but am in a pickle...
Looking at a 1999 E36 M3 and the VIN (XEY82364) isn't giving me info on the displacement or output of the engine.
https://www.mdecoder.com/decode/wbsbg9331xey82364
Anybody have any other suggestions on how to get the down and dirty on this car?
All S52 were rated as 240 hp or 179 KW
this is the euro thread....away with the povo US nonsense

Seems you are overpaying taxes if it's rated by amount of power.
Your engine is clearly the 3.0.
