Hey y'all. My brother's car is 2014 328d xdrive. We installed a new transfer case and used the old transfer case motor/controller. It's still throwing codes with both the old controller and the new one. We have a Zurich code reader/programmer to diagnose the engine codes. We entered the code but thinking the code we entered was wrong. It was very difficult you read the stamped codes, it was like crappy Braille. We're getting the following two codes on the Zurich reader. Does anyone have any idea what's wrong? The first code is saying the transfer case is different. We installed ATC35L, Zurich code is showing ATCx50

Did you use a "brand new" transfer case or a used unit?
After replacing the transfer case you will have to carry out an adaptation procedure. In the course of this procedure you must enter the MPT calibration number stamped on the transfer case.
You need the last 4 or 5 digits from the MPT number.
Mark.
I think you need better diagnostic devices to begin with. Harbor Freight tool probably doesn't program the calibration value nor initialize the transfer case correctly.
Also regarding the transfer case output flange (very likely why you've replaced it):

You can prevent it.

Do you have any shops or good BMW traveling diagnosticians around you?
If you have a Windows laptop and an ENET cable (cheap), I can possibly help you remotely, via remote desktop.
