Hello, I am proud owner of 2005 E60 535d, but last situation was really strange:
At first error on DSC was thrown in dash computer and DSC was disabled. Then after about 1h while car was not running on ignition start all car was shaking, tachometer's arrow was jumping +/- ~200 rpm on idle and engine seemed to be running only half of cylinders. Seemed like misfire or something. Then after 2 tries car was running fine, but when I started to drive it after some 10 meters (in human body parts it is 32.8 feet) it stalled.
At moment car is in service and they do not know what is wrong with it, since it is running like new again. By their words there was no saved relevant errors in computer.
In engine swirl flaps are deleted, EGR is disabled and in such configuration I have done about 17k kms (10.5 miles) for past 10 months.
Have not once mixed gasoline with diesel. And only diesel from trusted brand is used (Neste Pro Diesel)
Car have anti theft system IGLA. In short this system lives on car's CAN bus. As I have noticed it either lets start the car, or does not let start the car. I do not believe that it can be the reason, but still want to give this info.
That is all relevant information that I can think about.
Tried to hook up INPA software and check injection quantities per cylinder and see if they deviate a lot?
I can not recall if it is in INPA or ISTA there is a cylinder compression test also (it monitors the car, while you start the engine), maybe that gives some indications.
If it is fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, bad connection from a engine sensor (or maybe one you forgot to attach again at rebuilding the engine), it can be many things....
