Car won't start after valve cover (VCG) job

Hello all,

So just finished replacing my Valve cover and gaskets on my N20 engine with 82k miles. Tedious job but pretty straightforward. I have done all VCGs on all my bimmers E30, E46, E92, and never had a problem.

However, the car won't start. It cranks but it won't start. Battery was disconnected before the job and fully charged with my battery tender overnight after the job. I double checked all connections, bolt torques, etc. and all seems to be ok. I read the codes with bimmerlink and the only one I get is:

Code A10A
EWS4_Timing_Chall_Resp_Fehler
Symptom: No signal".

Any suggestions? -appreciate any input.

Some thing happened during work check it all again

Thanks for your reply. It is fixed, the key point is that when you reinstall the fuel pump, the exhaust camshaft has to be at bottom dead center. Also the fuel rail needed to be bled.
