I drive a 2014 BMW 528i with 202,000 miles. I have been dealing with several oil leaks that have been costly the last few months. Back in December 2019, my oil cooler had a major oil leak that resulted in my alternator needing to be replaced. Then this past Friday Feb 28, I replaced my valve cover that was leaking a lot of oil as well.
The shop techs did check for any other leaks but none were located. Now this morning I noticed another small leak in my driveway. Would there by chance be any residual oil from cable cover fix that was done? Should I again worry that I need another repair?
Hard to say. You’re in a warm climate so you could carefully clean around the areas that received oil from the (hopefully) corrected oil leaks. There are a lot of electrical components and electronix under the hood, so if you decide to clean up the engine you want use something that’s not going to run.
Has the gasket seal been replaced at your oil pan?
