I am new to this forum and have what may be a stupid question, but I will ask it anyways. I have a 2010 535i turbo. I have just installed an aFe Stage 2 Intake system. Do I need to get my computer re-coded after this installation? I know in the old days when I modified my wannabe hot rod I had to adjust the carburetor. When I changed the intake on my Harley I had to re-code the chip. So I am assuming I will need to re-code my BMW. If I truly do, where do I go? Do I have to go to the dealer?
Thanks,
ggoods1
First of all, never go to the dealer if you don't have too. Especially for modifications to the car. I would do some research on what other people have done, maybe this specific forum won't give you that as a lot of threads here are for *older* BMWs. On that note, I believe there are quite a few piggy back programs like JB4 and cobb tuning softwares that would help take benifet of the new intakes. Good luck! 335i of the same year share that engine so I'd start there.
No need to change anything, your ECU will account for the minimal difference.
Get a wireless MHD adapter:

Then download MHD on an android tablet or android phone and connect to it.

Choose your tune and go from there. You should have gotten downpipes instead of the intake, way more power to be had.
Don't bother with JB4 or anything else, MHD is by far the best option. The gauge layout is great to have too, keep your tablet sideways and you can monitor all types of parameters and logs.
