    Melted wire casing?

I found this wire in my 87 325i (E30). Can anyone ID it for me? Everything ‘electrical’ seems to be working fine except assist break light is on.

    No e30s, again :(
that looks like it goes to your brake sensor. I don't know what assist brake light is but if its the one telling your brake pads are worn, that is this wire.
    No e30s again.

    Some e30's & an e34
Is the brake sensor connection and lead. Replace or remove/disconnect and short the leads to the harness to eliminate the brake warning light on the dash.
