    Problems following Crankshaft position sensor

So I changed crankshaft position sensor thinking this would fix my Vanos problem 2A82 and 2A98 codes with BMW OEM one and now car runs erratic with idle/surging and stalling. Not sure why this would occur if it is a brand new sensor. Any thoughts about what could have caused it not to work similar to last one or improve issues. Part numbers were verified. Any help. Im almost certain it seated well. I used a new washer and bolt. I installed it from the bottom of the car.

I would remove, clean the camshaft solinoids and swap there positions clear faults and recheck

OK resolved the issue with the crankshaft, i guess it was not seated well. Still get vanos codes, but at least the RPM is not surging and car is not stalling
