New to the forum, I owned a 1987 320e that I loved, but sold because of family growing and now I want to get another e30.
Buying a pretty clean 1989 325ic, Cali car no rust and only issue I have found is rear diff. Are there monsters in the closet I should consider or look closer at?
Thank you for any help
There are allot of things that could go wrong with any car. Check general things such as coolant / oil. See how it runs. I am always sceptical when someone says a car of this age has no rust, no rust or no rust you can see? Search online for an e30 buyimg guide for car specific issues e.g sunroof drains / rust under the boot and bonnet seals
whats the issue with the diff? luckily, since its a 325i model, the diff is super common so if you have to, you can swap with any other 325i diff
No e30s again.
Timing belt

+1 for timing belt! One surprise I had years ago was how far apart the rear end has to be disassembled to replace the rear subframe bushings! SO simple on an E21, but a LOT more work on the E30. However...it is worth it!
