I just bought a 1995 540i (m60) that supposedly "just needs the new waterpump put on"
Well they bought the wrong version parts which are for newer 99+ e39 540i

Brand new for 1999-2003 M62tu 4.4l:
-waterpump with cast aluminum impeller (not plastic)
-alum thermostat housing and tstat (integrated sensor)
-fan clutch.
