Hi I have a BMW 1988 635csi automatic and sometimes while i am driving my radio and speedometer shuts off at the same time then it goes on by its self as i continue to drive.Can someone help me out on this problem ?

I would check grounds and connections first

jclausen is putting you on the right track.
Page 0670-11 shows radio & cluster on same # 21 fuse circuit.
Page 0670-17 & 6210-2 shows cluster ground #G-200.
Page 6500-0 shows radio ground # G-200.
Check ground connection @ # G-200.
Page 8000-4 shows G-200 splice location.
