    Hard top and weather seals leaking after replacement.

    Hello,

    I have recently replaced on My 98 Z3 ( Hard top) ;

    1. weather seal ( the one outside and around the windshield),
    2. Both the seals around the left and right windows
    3. Both Left and right window guide seals.

    I still have leaks in the car, any advise or instructions pls ?

    Thank you,

    Ioannis

    I was able to achieve solid results by adjusting the hardtop and door windows, and then tweak the a pillar seal or maybe the front part of the hardtop window seals a bit if I recall correctly

    Depending on the leak a little silicone past may help

    Download the BMW Hardtop fitting PDF (google), and use that to precisely align your hardtop. I did this down to the millimeter and it took some time but made the hardtop much quieter.

    If the leak isn’t from the windows seals and is leaking onto the soft top, then check to see if the rear window seal has failed. The black rubber around the outside of the rear window is only trim, the window is actually sealed in with a butyl gasket.

    Where is it leaking? I know on mine, if the little rubber flap (see pictures) is tucked under the hardtop, Water will drip on the seat. They tend to tuck under when I put the top on and need to be pulled out.
