INPA is telling me that "ignition circuit 4" is not OK.
Can anyone tell me what ignition circuit 4 is?

That is likely the airbag ignition and in the passenger area. Just a guess from the functional description listing.

Ahh, also in the newtis is the wiring diagram and locations. Just going off that list (4th being passenger airbag, 2nd stage) I would suspect that.

Thanks for your information. Ignition circuit #4 may be more than just the pass. air bag.I'm looking at the drivers side because I did replace the regulator. Not driving the car now because of winter weather, so i have time to play with it. My last resort would be taking it to a BMW dealer in the spring. INPA I think is telling me where the fault is but its in German.

I was able to clear the fault in circuit #4 and clear the air bag light. I reset and cleaned the drivers side air bag connector.
No trip to the dealer. Thanks for your interest.
