    Help with buying FIRST BMW

    Hey,

Can anybody help me with buying a used BMW 2013 535i M-Sport X-Drive guide. So far I saw a car with 101,344 miles for 15900$ this is going to be my first car. I just want some tips to know what to look out for when buying it and also is the price right. CAuse after some research online I found that that specific car with that milage should be actually worth around 13000-14000. Let me know please. Here is the link to the car:

Yes, the quoted price seems above average. Maybe it is an exceptional one owner car with all maintenance records and you are willing to pay a premium for it. Or maybe you want to keep looking. A 7 year old 535i xdrive with 100k is pretty common. The MSport is less common, but not essential. I don’t think anything is done to the suspension on the AWD models. You can get the blacked out trim and bigger wheels and sport seats with the Sport Package.

I can't read your post, because the print is the same color as the background. However, whenever buying a used car, I highly recommend taking it to a BMW specialist shop FIRST, for a pre-purchase inspection. This is the best money you'll ever spend, because you'll know pretty much everything that's wrong with the car before buying. At the very least, it will allow you to negotiate a fair price based on the needed repairs.

I'm buying it from a secondhand car dealership in Lansing, so I don't think they will allow me to drive to the BMW specialist to get it checked. But they said they did engine oil, transmission oil, break fluid changes already.

Thats good to know cause ye I was thinking it for sure over priced and he was telling me that it had the M-sport suspension for all wheel drive. Will the blacked out trim be more expensive like is it a special package like the M-sport

Frankly, if they wont let get it looked at by an expert then I’d move on.

Maybe the newer ones do get a sport suspension with AWD. In 2008 they did not. Black trim is sport package or msport package. You could probably get chrome trim wrapped or painted.

I bought my first BMW 7 months ago. I love it. I researched the heck outta mine, I bought from a non Bmw dealership. I looked at different ones. And I would call the bmw dealership with the vin number and asked for the maintenance history and what they thought. When we found a car that was looked after I brought the car to them to do a visual inspection. This was VERY important. I looked a couple others from other dealerships and as soon as I’d mention taking it to bmw if they had a problem I walked away from it. The car I bought the dealership told me to take to as many dealerships and mechanics as I wanted until I was happy.
Bmw found some problems that only they would know what is common issues for that type of car and the other dealership had them all fixed and bam I have an amazing car. Be careful not to buy someone else’s problems. Most common issues were regular oil changes weren’t getting done and bmw would give their opinion on how damaging it could have been. It was just an opinion about what they typically see but it was an opinion only they would know.

Check the oil pan seal. Common problem you don’t want to have to fix
