One stop shop for an E24?

    Hi everyone,

Starting the restoration process on a 1977 Alpina B2 based on the 630cs. Looking for many e24, specifically, 630cs parts. Any major part resources for an e24? Thank you!

In the US Autohaus AZ Grotton FP Pelican Parts ++++ Many Many others. You have to be very very sure of manufacture and stay away from the Chinese crap. Early chassis parts are fairly easy to come by depending on what you are looking for. By this I mean performance suspension parts. But your Alpina stuff should be good and they did use Bils so you can get those rebuilt by Bilstein.

Post some pics! That's gotta be a really rare car, I'm in for a build thread if you put one up. You're in a good place for help, there's a huge amount of knowledge here. Did you post anything at BigCoupe?

    Shipper,

Thank you you for the response. You may not remember but you gave me some information on identifying this car on a thread I made over a year ago. I have limited pictures because the car is at a body shop and engine is at mechanic shop. I will forward through pictures and a translation of the original catalogue info for the 630cs B2. Alpina was resistant to authenticate because it’s pre 1978 and they barely kept records on the e24 B2. We obviously will keep pushing. The car has the exhaust, cam, ported and polished head, suspension, brakes exc. An owner in Germany converted the car from solex to triple Weber’s like the e9 B2. We do not have original solex.

Thank you! To my knowledge after lots of research it’s the last one remaining. I was on Bimmer forums and the alpina register over a year ago. The process stopped while waiting to get into a body shop. Everyone was very helpful. I did not post at bigcoupe. Do you recommend? Below I will attach the 630cs B2 catalogue info from Alpina and pics. I have very limited pics since the engine is with mechanic and body is in a shop. We have identified many parts alpina such as exhaust, cam, ported and polished head, suspension, brakes exc. Unfortunately Alpina is very reluctant to identify it because it’s pre 78 and they didn’t keep much in the way of records for the B2. Alpina believes 50 were made but between the solex carbs and Karmann body, they weren’t a big hit. It was “experimental”. We obviously will keep pushing for them to authenticate because we’re pretty confident it’s the real deal. And... if things go south... I’ll At least have a pretty E24
