Well, I've always had an itch to get a V8. There is a car that came up at a small local dealership for a suspiciously low price. They are asking $13k for an '08 6-speed with 130k miles. I did talk to them and they stated that it has no obvious faults. The obvious issue are that it's a 5 owner car with 4 accidents on CarFax. I do understand that I would need to put some money into it (rod bearings, throttle actuators, etc). They also did not hesitate to allow me to take the car in to a specialist for a PPI. Is this even worth exploring?

I have had a $12K E93 for 2 months. It is a nicely repaired salvage title car with 88K miles. My mechanic took a look at it, motor mounts were busted and a couple of small leaks, steering rack, 1 valve cover and the oil filter canister, also rear brakes. I had him do the mounts right away, the tensioner housing was on the frame (scary), and he fixed the steering rack leak while he was in there, $780. I am researching break kits and I will do that myself, and the other leaks are just drips, haven't decided exactly what I want to do there, but I'm really happy. It is a gorgeous beast! The torque is a little low but loads of HP and the S65 sings!
