Looking for advise on diag. software for 2004 760li

Due to living over 4 hrs away from anyone with equiptment to scan my bmw. I'm now ready to take the plunge and get my laptop setup for doing it myself. Looking for advise on what programs i need and a place to download them. Pretty new to bmw systems and looking for any and all advise. Mainly looking for programs to scan all modules and possibily wiring diagrams and component locations if possible. Thankyou to all that respond i've kept this 7 series alive far longer than i thought i would be able to thanks to help from this and other forums.

For e65 you can use INPA or newest ISTA+

Do you have any suggestions on where to find and install inpa all the places i find end up having dead or expired links. This is new to me and looking for all the info i can find thanks for the help...
