Hi all,
I have been searching high and low for this information but can't seem to find it. I am doing a Haltech Elite 2500 installation in my 3 series race car. The wiring harness was completely stripped and a new one made. To make the Haltech work, I was told I needed to ditch the E46 Cam Position Sensors and swap them for M50 cam position sensors, otherwise it can damage the ECU (or at least not give a reading).
I bought some aftermarket M50 Cam Position Sensors and now need to wire them in to the car but I cannot find a pinout diagram for them, and the colours on these sensors do not match the factory so I can't use a factory wiring diagram. Does anyone have a pinout diagram for the M50 Cam Position sensor?

I just got done running my M60 with a Haltech 550. The M60 uses a 2-wire reluctor camshaft sensor, so I am assuming you have a 3-wire hall effect sensor (I have heard that some reluctor sensors can have three wires for gounding). If it is a hall effect sensor, you need to just do some testing - apply dc voltage to one prong, ground another prong, and then measure the voltage of the third prong while moving the sensor across some steel as it should fluctuate. I don't think getting the wiring wrong will damage it. The issue I had with my M60 is I needed to change the crank sensor to an M50, and then it started to catch.
