    Coolant leak

I'm looking into buying a 2003 540i 6speed and the seller states the car leaks coolant when pushed hard. Claims it's the o rings on the metal tubes that goes to the engine. Could it be that or the valley pan leaking?

When "pushed hard"??? That doesn't even make sense.
Without more information, the leak could be from almost anywhere.

If you put cheap parts on your car, you will soon have a cheap parts car.

Yea, his text wasn't super helpful. I'm still trying to figure out what "pushed hard" means in his context. It sounds like he's not very mechanical and doesn't understand what could be wrong. If he had the cooling system apart and noticed a bad O-ring and didn't replace it, he's pretty lame (insert your derogatory word here).

sorry for the delay, site was down and my job happened!
I know nothing of this car other than what you posted here and other threads. You stated the guy wanted 14k firm, my point was , at that price he should have a PPI and carfax and finance the loan!

That guys on drugs..... Move on. For a good well maintained ‘03 540 with a stick that doesn’t leak, has a good maintenance record, below 90,000 miles, you should be in the 8 to 9 grand territory.

He states that when replacing the radiator he noticed the o-rings were " a little worn out". #1, those seals are not in any proximity to the radiator. Second they are not visible at all until you do some dismantling.
I'd want to know if the leaking is accompanied with overheating"when pushed" and why the radiator was replaced.
Perhaps just a case a seller not knowing his ass from a hole in the ground but if I were you I'd run from any BMW with nebulous cooling system issues unless you are qualified to diagnose it on the spot before purchase or prepared for the worst.
Comments by others also indicate a high price so..........
