2016 340ix Eco Mode Question

What determines when my car will automatically shut down when in Eco mode. Sometimes at a red light it shuts down and sometimes it doesn't.
Will it shut down in any mode or only eco?

You're speaking of MSA, correct? The automatic start/stop feature of the engine?

MSA will work in any mode. There are certain parameters that have to be met. Coolant temp, battery voltage, electrical demand, HVAC demand, etc.

There is a button next to the engine start that can enable or disable MSA / 'auto start stop'
