So I ended up breaking my serpentine belt Friday, upon replacing it and the pulley the mechanic is hearing a metal (almost like two wrenches hitting together) clicking noise under the hood. I wasn’t there today to hear it as I was at work so I’m stuck with trying to figure out what it could be until I hear it for myself. Has anybody had a similar noise coming from their engine area? What did it end up being? Thanks for the responses

It is VERY likely that your drive belt tensioner is bad. You are incredibly lucky if your belt didn't cut into the front crankshaft seal when it fell off. If it IS the tensioner, you need to replace it before driving the car; it will cost you a fortune if the belt comes off again and cuts into the crank seal.
