Trunk won't open.. (electrical issue??)

Hello, I drive a 2011 328i xDrive. A few days ago, after closing the trunk, the yellow "trunk open" light showed up on my dash so I pulled over and the trunk was closed and the button on the trunk did not work to open it. The trunk button on the remote and inside the car didn't work either (there is no key hole to open it with the key). I checked the valet lock and it was unlocked, moved it around to make sure it's in the right position and it looked fine. The only way to get to the trunk was by opening the middle section of the back seat and accessing the trunk, then pulling the latch. Has this happened to anyone? Any idea what it could be or how to fix it? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

You've posted this in the wrong section. Perhaps a moderator can move this to the E90 section.

There are a couple of possible issues that could cause your problem. It could be the wires in the trunk wiring harness where it goes from the deck lid to the body, or possibly the trunk latch itself.
