I’ve posted a lot of questions about this system and last year I had it working pretty dang well. Then this fall/winter I began having fogging up issues again.
what I ultimately decided was that it felt like it wasn’t blowing hard enough and my suspicion was confirmed when I realized, under no circumstances do the outside flaps open up for the blower to suck in outside air!! I unhooked the actuator rod and opened them manually and the vents feel like tiny wind tunnels now.
Question is though why? I havnt got a parts car to get a motor from but I’m thinking I’ll just pull it and try to feed a little power to it. Other suspicion I’ve had is that almost all the “rebuildable” units that make up the system (blower sword, control unit, etc) are in need of replacement.
Id love to know if this happened to anyone else ever because I searched for hours and didn’t find anyone else asking about this condition ha.
Here are all motors and flaps http://bmwe32.masscom.net/johan/ihka/ihka.html
remove as much as possible from the center console etc and then try different settings on the control panel and watch if the motors for the flaps are moving. Also remove the cover on the dash to check the flaps
I remember this case of Kikobojoe where he fixed the bracket of the flaps, go thru the whole thread, there are pics http://www.bimmernut.com/forum/showt...ighlight=flaps
