Got this dreaded message. Car limped home for 2 miles. Now dead. Code E114BC ... no clue but scared to death ...
What did you use to read the code?

I used the hidden menu to see the code
Drivetrain Malfunction is a catch-all type alarm and could mean any number of issues. The hidden menu is not going to tell you what's specifically wrong with the car. At the very least, you need a code reader that supports your BMW mode connected to the OBDII port l to read the fault code properly, or ISTA/D software, or take the car to a dealer/indy shop for proper diagnosis.
Posting a code without any kind of description is the same thing as saying "my car broke down. tell me what's wrong". Not enough info to even take a guess.

Totally understood. I dont have any reader. Had to go drop it to the shop. Waiting.. will post what I hear. Thank you all for your replies
Hope it's nothing too costly. If you do want to diagnose and repair your BMW yourself, a good BMW specific scan tool is a must. There are several good ones out there for the hobbyist and DIY repair guys.
