    '00 E39 M5 - TiAg , Full Leather (Sport), 136K Miles - Chicago, IL

I've decided to put my '00 E39 M5 up for sale, since the car practical is no longer practical for my needs. Shortly after purchasing the vehicle I found out I was going to have kid number two. I am deciding to focus time and money elsewhere at this point in my life.

I had intended to keep this car for a very long time, so I have been diligent about repairing and restoring things as they came up. I have receipts for all of the major work that was done to the vehicle under my ownership as well as receipts for any parts that have been purchased. These receipts total more than $10,000. I understand that your don't get your money back out of maintenance items, but I do think that it should help with the lack of prior service history from the other owners. As they say, my loss is your gain. Now onto the details.

This M5 is 1:85 produced for the North American market (TiAG w/full leather sport interior). Here are some specifics:

    VIN: WBSDE9348YBZ95721
    Production Date: February 2000
Exterior Color: Titanium Silver Metallic (354)
    Interior: Sport, full-leather Silverstone (O6SS)
    Trim: Titanium Line
    Current Mileage: 136,xxx

Car has a clean title, accident free, no damage report CarFax. The only negative on the CarFax is that I am this cars 10th owner. That doesn't sound great but review of the report will show this car changed hands many times early on in it's life and quite a few owners are dealerships. The last ten or so years the car has been owned by three owners including me

    Upgrades:
    - Bilstein B8 Sport dampers (front & rear)
    - Hella Euro front headlights & CELIS tail lights
    - E60 Short Shifter
    - Stoptech braided stainless steel brake lines
    - Full leather illuminated shift knob
    - Later E39 M5 (grey dial) cluster installed

    Running Gear:
    - 18" AC Schnitzer Type III wheels - (18x8.5 et15) I would rate the condition of the wheels to be 7.5-8 out of 10. Some minor scratches in the finish, no curb rash.
    - Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 - (255/40/18) Measured 5-6/32's less than 1,000 miles ago when one of the valve stems was replaced on the wheels.
    - Front Brakes are new - Meyle rotors & Pagid pads - approximately 2,000 miles ago.
    - Front Calipers rebuild by Stoptech - leaky seal prompted the rebuild, completed with the pad and rotor replacement.
    - Rear brakes have plenty of pad life (80% or more)
    - Transmission and differential fluid recently changed - less than 5,000 miles ago.
    - Fresh DOT4 brake fluid.

    Maintenance:

Some of this will be repeated from the top, but this should cover the complete list of items that were serviced. I held to 5,000 mile oil change intervals and used only the Castrol TWS 10w-60.

Vehicle was purchased with 127,770 miles

    - Aftermarket parking brake boot replaced with OEM
    - Oil change (128,406) - inspection performed at this time discovered suspension wear that was not detailed in my PPI.
    - Rear Wheel Speed sensors (L&R) - replaced with VDO cables (130,856)
    - Differential axle shaft seal - minor leak discovered (132,787)
    - Transmission fluid changed (RP Syncromax) (132,787)
    - Differential fluid changed with Castrol SYNTRAX 75w-140 (132,787)
    - Rear Ball joints replaced (132,787)
    - Rear upper control arms replaced (132,787)
    - Rear lower control arm bushings (Powerflex) replaced (132,787)
    - Driveshaft assembly replaced (132,787) - ordered from Turner Motorsport, rebuilt by Beyer Motor Works
    - Front and rear dampers (Bilstein B8) replaced (132,787).
    - Front and rear strut mounts replaced (132,787)
    - Front and rear sway bar endlinks replaced (132,787)
    - Front thrust arm assembly (bushing and ball joint) replaced (132,787)
    - Fuel filter, cabin air and engine air filters replaced (132,787)
    - Brake fluid flush (132,787)
    - Oil change (132,787)
    - Alignment (132,787)
    - Water pump replaced (133,166)
    - Thermostat replaced (133,166)
    - Fan clutch and blade replaced (133,166)
    - Water pump, power steering pump, and belt tensioner replaced (133,166)
    - Upper and lower radiator hoses replaced (133,166)
    - Front wheel bearings replaced (134,534)
    - Front brake pads and rotors replaced (134,534)
    - Front brake calipers rebuilt (Stoptech) (134,534)
    - Aftermarket shift knob and boot replaced with leather illuminated M5 boot (135,625)
    - Front windscreen trim and lower cowl replaced (135,625)

As you can see the work that has been done is extensive. I did DIY some of the work listed above, but relied on local specialist shops for some of the bigger tasks. As mentioned before I have receipts that detail the parts and labor for all of the work above.

The exterior of this car is in good condition for its age. A car of this age and mileage is always going to be a driver. A car that shows some use. It shows some typical rock chips in the front. There are two dents on the passenger side. One just above the front wheel arch and another below the front door. A local PDR guy said were easily removable. I haven’t had a chance to have someone address them. The rear bumper shows a few blemishes. The biggest negative on the exterior is the trunk lid. Rust has developed, since before my ownership, at the license plate light opening. My recommendation would be to find a replacement about a $500 repair. Otherwise the car does not show any rust or corrosion.

The interior is in very good condition overall. All of the buttons and switches work as intended. The is only pixel burn out in one row of the clusters temperature display. There is minimal wear in the drivers seat bolster. No cracks or tears whatsoever. Rear seat is typically unblemished. The steering wheel shows wear on the button faces and smoothing of the leather, but is still perfectly usable. Titanium trim is in good shape outside of the center console piece. I believe it suffered exposure to the auto-dimming mirror fluid (needs repair), which cause the PO to wrap it in “titanium vinyl”. It’s passable at a quick glance.

Overall, this car presents itself well. It has been well taken care of during my ownership. Given the overall condition of the car I’m asking $17,000, but I am open to hearing reasonable offers.

Please PM me or reach out via phone at six three zero two seven six eight six four one.

    Regards,

    Tony
