I have had a heck of a time getting my resistor replaced. The dealer wanted $700 to replace it, but I looked up a youtube video, and it's amazingly simple to do. I got online and searched for 2011 BMW 535i xDrive, and ordered the only part that populated on multiple sites when I did that query. Well, it was around Xmas eve, I paid $21 for overnight shipping and it ended up taking seven days to get to me anyway. I got it and disassembled the blower motor to get to the unit to find out that there are TWO different resistors in 2011 and I need the other one. So the one I need is a little more than double the cost of the post 03/2011 production vehicles. I have been looking everywhere for a good deal and came across this one, that looks exactly the same, and has the same numbers, the same number of bumps, the same shape, the same orientation of plugs etc. But it's for a 2009 7 series and it's about 1/8th the price of the pre 03/11 resistor:
$16.99

Then there's this guy, I've only seen on rockauto and I am skeptical about an offbrand that isn't more prevalent:
$69.99

I am seeing the Standard/Intermotor RU816 and the RU909 being replacements for the
64119220847 Behr unit I pulled out of mine. What's with the wild price differences? I can't find out enough about the resistors to see what is actually different about them functionally.
Thanks in advance for any input!
