Body Sealant Stickers in Convertible Top Boot

My '87 E30 is getting water in the trunk. Turns out there are a series of stickers that cover holes in the body to seal out water. Over time, the sticker tears and water enters the trunk. I used an RV roof patch to seal one of these holes previously. It's unsightly but it is under the top frame and not visible. These others that allow water into the trunk are visible when storing the top. What are others using to seal these holes when the sealant stickers fail?
