just bought a 1996 z3 needing info!!! need to buy a shop manual, drivers seat is worn need to replace seat upholstery need to know of a good place that makes them and floor mats with mat anchors Thanks!!!
The factory service manual is available online here: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/
You can still get most parts at BMW dealers or online parts stores like ECS Tuning or even Amazon.
Thank you for info!!!! first BMW any info greatly appreciated!!!!
Newtis is great. As is www.realoem.com for finding part numbers and exploded parts diagrams.
If you like paper books then Bentley does a great workshop manual for the Z3.

There is only one thing more pleasurable than working on a Z3, that's driving it top down on a fine day.
Welcome. Which variant did you buy. You will want to visit the diagnostic thread here and set up a laptop with the provided software and the cables. That will save you more time and money than almost anything else.
Tend to the important stuff first. Many 1.9s have been junked by a plastic part on the head.

Mats with anchors are NLA.
You will want to:
1. Put the last 7 of VIN into a decoder like http://bimmer.work to see your car's build info.
2. Put the last 7 into RealOEM.com and mark that page because you will be going back there a lot.
3. Use RealOEM to get part no's to put into ECSTuning.com where you can see photos and prices.

I didn't like the factory carpeted floor mats in my Z3 at all. Both mats slid around and the drivers side mat wouldn't stay flat on the floor up by the pedals.
I put a in set of rubbertite floor mats from Lloyd's. Cost about $60 before tax & shipping. I have the beige/tan interior and one of the colors was a pretty close match.
The mats are supposed to be custom cut for the Z3 and the passenger side fit perfectly. I'm 5'-4", so I have the drivers seat pushed relatively far to the front and the driver's side mat required a small bit of trimming to prevent interference with the seat rails.
The mats come with some anchors that you screw into the flooring/carpet, but I don't think they would move around if you didn't bother with the anchors.
My mats were original with mat locks, but one ring had pulled out of the mat and other was working loose. So I got a couple more locks (lock = two clamping rings and an anchor screw) and used some black silicone in the clamping rings to hold them into the mats.
