E90 2006 N52 limp mode

So i just slapped winter tires on my e90.... long story short i been driving it on clean roads speeding high revs no problem.... so im going home im pulling into my building and it was snowing alot easily 15cm of snow. I pull in my building its kinda of hill but it was straight snow my car got stuck i was reving it to get out of the snow and park.. and the limp mode in red popped on the dash. Right after it was burning out basically in the snow going left n right..... i parked my car i turned it off and turned it back on and the light is not there.. i put it in different gears everything seems fine... but i didnt not drive it i jus drove straight and reversed back to my parking spot and turned it off and went home..... what was the reason it turned on?!?! Also when it turned on it kept popping up and then going away and that's before i turned off the car and turned it back on... can someone explain reasons
