Hi,
Anyone using INPA on e36 ?
I'm trying to get INPA to work to use it on my e36 1997 euro spec 328i M52.
I keep getting the error "SYS 0005", and it says a SGBD file is missing.
So through googling i found the "fix" below. It says just copy the SGBD into the Ecu directory. But where are the correct SGBD for my e36 in the first place ? Copy from where ? The way they write just sounds it's obvious where they are, but do i need to download them somewhere ? Where do they come from ?
1.8 EDIABAS error: Error (95) SYS-0005: OBJECT FILE NOT FOUNDReason 1: No SGBD in C:\EDIABAS\ECUSolution 1: Copy the SGBD into the Ecu directory.
Reason 2: No group file in C:\EDIABAS\ECU (for group call)Solution 2: Copy the group file to C:\EDIABAS\ECU
Reason 3: No path definition C:\EDIABAS\BINSolution 3: Set the system variable (see 2.1)
Reason 4: Incorrect path definition in EDIABAS.INISolution 4: Set the EcuPath path in Ediabas.ini to C:\EDIABAS\ECU
Reason 5: The SGBD name contains reserved
Directory structure for INPA is critical .
Did you use the guide for INPA from the Z3 subforum? If not delete what you have and start there.
Attn. NEWBIES: Use the search feature, 98% has already been discussed.
Click the search button, select "search single content type", select the "e36 sub forum" specifically, try the "search titles" then try the "search entire posts".
yes i previously had inpa from some other source installed and when i discovered that from the Z3 subforum i immediately deleted everything and installed it new from there. It now shows the e36 model in the main menu at least.
But still, that error comes up.
I need some things clarified.
Are these SGBD files for my e36 already somewhere in this install download included, but in a wrong folder, or are they missing at all and i need to download them somewhere ? They just write "copy them". But from where ?

Did you follow the step by step guide ?

There is a whole dedicated diagnostics section.
So solution 1-4 are all set?

Yes.
No they're not. only the paths (3 and 4) are set correct. That's why i'm making this thread. The problem is that i can't follow these steps. How can i copy an SGBD file when i don't know where it is in the first place. Where do i copy it from ? Where is it ? They just write "copy them in there", but from where ? I don't have them.
