I'm new to this forum!, i am really glad i fount place where i can ask for some help.
so here is my story, i have an E39 540i that one day didnt wanted to start anymore (no crank/no start). so i scanned the car and said immo problem...so since i know it is a complicated issue i bought an ECU with immo off. i putted the new ECU and i didnt had crank or start again, so the guys told me i had to jump the pin 1 and 3 of the EWS module...here is where my issue started because i can not find the EWS module, i took all the covers off under the steering and glove box but i dont see any EWS module, can you help me please?

so this is what i fount and as far as i look i dont see any EWS module
That is the light control module and i think trans module. The EWS box is the size of pack of cigarettes, white color, up by the clutch interrupt switch.

The ECU from another e39 won't work unless your EWS system has been modified or every ews piece from the same vehicle is installed.
A specific encrypted ISN (individual serial number) is burned into the ECU, EWS control module, and each of your keys. When you insert the key into the ignition, your key, EWS module, and ECU communicate with each other and if the all don't have the same ISN the car won't start.
You can't write another ISN to these modules...they are write-once. Good luck with the pin trick
The EWS control module is usually found behind the glovebox (LHD) along with some other control modules. Since the OP is in another market...some things might be different. So refer to the TIS website for more info...use the last 7 digits of your VIN to make the site more specific.

In US LHD cars the EWS is below the headlight switch.
