Pre-facelift e39 98' 523i manual. Hello guys, so after removing my AE's for MOT, and being tired of messing with them for two years, I decided to switch it up a bit and turn on the DRL's the problem is: using NCSExpert after activating DRL's nothing changes.(turning things like double hazards etc. works fine). Not sure what LCM I have too, as I recall it was called LCM C17/C18(can't recall exactly), C standing for model I assume? Anyways, there are local people that make modules with wiring for DRL's, but I've been wondering if it's possible to code them using a computer. PAsoft does not even let me code LCM(error name is 'bad index'), not sure what they stand for, maybe PAsoft just does not support them?
Hi,
Interesting LCM model info as I have only run acrossed LCM II, III, and III B in these cars. If you have an LCM II it won't support DRLs. The switch over to LCM III seems to be either 9/98 or 3/99.

SOLVED if you have the C16 module like me, turn on usa option, DRL option, DRL dimming option in NCS and you'll get the option I was looking for. First photo: Lights on parking position, Second photo: normal lights.
I would invest in pa soft 1.4, super user friendly for programming.
I wish there was an option to just run parking lights for drl, most of us who have done the facelift headlights tap into them for the halos.
