I'm new to the forum but set up an account to lean on the expertise you all have on BMWs. Let me start by saying that my first BMW, a 2008 328i, was not a good experience. I ended up trading it in for an Acura TL which has been a very reliable car for the last 5 years. Nonetheless, I have interested in getting back into a BMW. I found a CPO 2016 535i with 27k miles on it. It was leased back in late 2016 and just returned to the BMW dealer (where the vehicle was serviced for the last 3 years). I test drove the car a day ago and was really impressed. There are a few things they have to fix get to sell it as a CPO. The car is fully loaded and has just about every upgrade you can think of (apparently it was $68,500 brand new). The original warranty runs through 12/27/2020 and the additional CPO runs through 12/27/21, so that's nearly 2 years the car will be under warranty. I've done extensive amount of research and generally, the 2016 535i is generally reliable. The car is listed for $30,900 which I thought was high for a 2016 but I could be wrong. I'm considering pulling the trigger this weekend but just want some advice from the forum on whether this is a good buy. I did a KB value and that came out to be $28,900. I asked the dealer if there was any room to negotiate the price of the car and he seemed open to it. Anyways, do you all have any thoughts? Are there any known problems with 2016 535i? My thought was to pull the trigger but only keep it through the warranty or shortly thereafter. The alternative is 2017 Lexus ES. Many thanks!!
