Parking brake

What ways can I adjust the parking brake on a 1998 e38? I know if you take the back wheels off you can do it that way, but is there anyway to adjust the cable or anything like how you could on a handbrake? For those who don't know, the 98 e38 has the foot activated parking brake and when I took the cover off to see everything around the brake(located under the steering wheel), I was very confused and did not see a obvious place for adjustment.

Thanks for any input guys! Last thing I need to do to pass inspection.
