Hub cap for a later series 5 or motorcycle cover?

Good morning everyone. I’m new to this forum so do not hesitate to set me straight if needed. I have an older series 5 BMW and a friend of mine gave me what he thought was an older 70’s hub cap.

It looks like one but it’s heavier metal and has a clip in the center. The clip looks like it would go over metal tubing. Any ideas? I’d post a picture but I don’t see that option here.

Yes, a good photo or two would help. To share photos with the forum, load the images to a photo hosting site, such as Flicker, Google Photos, 500px, etc. Avoid using Photo Bucket or ImgUr as both make it difficult to link to forums.
Once uploaded to a hosting site, copy the link of the photo into a forum message. The link would be something like; http://hosting_site.com/your_pic.jpg
