Hi.I hope somebody can explain to me how the fuel pump on this 2010 Bmw 750i works. There are 2 sections and one pump...2 fuel level sensors .Does this pump is constantly trying to
keep both section with equal amount of fuel?Is pumping gas from one section and then from second.I'm interested in the logic of it.I suspect a self starting siphon principal at work there.
The reason is...my left side fuel level sensor is not working and to make the gauge display the info from the right side sensor I just connected the left side wiring to the right side sensor too.The gauge works now but I don't want to just use the right section of the fuel tank.Adding a resistor on the left side wiring I may be able to use left side tank too.Thanks.

main pump is passenger side that feeds to your high pressure pump. the left side is sucked over to the right side and each side has a fuel level sensor. It is common for the level sensors to go bad. You can OHM them out to read the values. The level sensors get grooved and cause binding to where the sensor gets stuck and this causing fuel plausibly faults.
