Hello everyone...
I have 91 E32 735IL....Vin#DC27666.... i got couple of problems...
My Ac and Horn fuse#9 keep blowing some reason any idea? as soon as i turn on the ac the fuse pops
Also i just recently replaced my steering wheel to Nardi non airbag wheel.. i disconnected the battery before installation after i got done putting it together connected the battery... Now i have no power to my radio ? i did unplug the airbag/SRS plug..
any help would be appreciated.... Thanks
fuse #9 is for horn, IHKA, auxiliary fan, cellular phone (optional extra) http://shark.armchair.mb.ca/~dave/BMW/e32/e32_91.pdf
I would first check the aux fan, maybe it is blocked by the magnets inside the motor which get lose and then there is too much amps, on my buddies 750 even the wire from aux fan to fuse box had melted. Turn the aux fan by hand if it runs smooth.
If that is o.k., disconnect the 4 plugs which go into the IHKA control module one after the other, on each side there are 2 plugs, the IHKA control module is behind center console, when you remove the cover on the side of the center console, you have access, only 1 screw each side.
So with this method you can find out easier the bad part, each pin description, IHKA pinout

I had the same issue, it was the AUX fan that was jammed up and never really turned freely. It can also have an internal short. Good info above if its not the AUX fan.
