    Need help... Ac and horn fuse keeps blowing

    Hello everyone...

    I have 91 E32 735IL....Vin#DC27666.... i got couple of problems...

    My Ac and Horn fuse#9 keep blowing some reason any idea? as soon as i turn on the ac the fuse pops
    Also i just recently replaced my steering wheel to Nardi non airbag wheel.. i disconnected the battery before installation after i got done putting it together connected the battery... Now i have no power to my radio ? i did unplug the airbag/SRS plug..


    any help would be appreciated.... Thanks

    fuse #9 is for horn, IHKA, auxiliary fan, cellular phone (optional extra) http://shark.armchair.mb.ca/~dave/BMW/e32/e32_91.pdf
    I would first check the aux fan, maybe it is blocked by the magnets inside the motor which get lose and then there is too much amps, on my buddies 750 even the wire from aux fan to fuse box had melted. Turn the aux fan by hand if it runs smooth.
    If that is o.k., disconnect the 4 plugs which go into the IHKA control module one after the other, on each side there are 2 plugs, the IHKA control module is behind center console, when you remove the cover on the side of the center console, you have access, only 1 screw each side.
    So with this method you can find out easier the bad part, each pin description, IHKA pinout
    white connector X610 'A'
    1-4 stepper motor fond area
    5 heater sword
    6 aux fan
    7 rear window heater relais
    8 climate control relais
    10 NC
    11 NC
    12+F20 (30)
    13+F20 (30)
    14 - 17 stepper motors for air distribution (recirculation)

    16= potentiometer+ feeler ground
    17= potentiometer flappers

    The connectors are:

    See the connectors, they are marked with small numbers outside.
    the SWORD has a 5 pin connector
    Pin 1 connector for the potentiometer for speed regulation at the control panel.
    Pin 2 power supply
    Pin 3: the relay get's contact when the blower fan potentiometer is adjusted, 12 volts come on.
    Pin 4 is ground
    Pin 5 the cable/wire from the blower fan.

    I had the same issue, it was the AUX fan that was jammed up and never really turned freely. It can also have an internal short. Good info above if its not the AUX fan.
