1990 325i /si Motor swap/ rebuild

I’m looking for some advice on my bmw. What’s the easiest motor to swap in, with the least body modifications? Also, will I need to find a new transmission to fit the new one?

It is easiest to swap in the same motor you have. Are you looking for more power? A little or a lot? How much money do you have to spend? You will get better E30 help on r3vlimited

I found the original motor and it will fit in so I’m just gonna go with that. Where’s the easiest place to start upgrading if I have the motor out already? Also is there anything I should be doing to the engine bay while I wait for the motor? I have new mounts ordered. I’m not sure what else I need at this time
