    Battery Replacement

Is it worth shelling out the money for an OE battery? Or will an autozone or Walmart battery be just fine? Do you have any other OE alternatives that might be better?

    Thanks!

An AutoZone battery will be just fine but make sure you register the battery to the car if the specs don't exactly match up to the battery you had in there.

Buy a Bosch AGM from pep boys with the 20% off coupon if you have pep boys. Sams club Duracell AGM, autozone AGM and advance AGM are also fine. There are only 2 or 3 battery companies in the US.

Except if your battery is an FLA type (Flooded Lead-Acid), generally white in color.

I personally still would change to AGM. In my experience, there have been no issues.

I got an H8, 900cca. Advance had 3 different sizes that they said will work. H7, H8, H9 I believe.

I think H8 is closest to the factory spec for my 08 E61 535xi. I would have guessed an 06 E60 530i would use a smaller battery like H7, but have never had one so I never looked up the spec.

Any h8 battery is fine. I have duralast Because it came with car when I bought it and still under warranty but optima is best batteries. Gel batteries don’t get bad cells because of bouncing while driving. They last longer and keep good cells longer and maintain high output for starts.
