Hello there:
I live in Jamaica and I own a 2008 BMW M3 E92. my rod bearings failed . I bought a new motor from a car that was in perfect condition, with upgraded bearings & after market cams. after doing the engine swap I replaced the aftermarket cams with my stock cams.i had togo to Miami to get the tool to reset the timing.i would also like to add the car has a ECU tune on it. the car turns over very strong but will NOT start.we have tried everything ,checked the timing, replaced the cam sensors,we are about to remove the DCT transmission to see if we had put on the flywheel incorrectly and the cranksharft sensor is reading wrong. I really hope someone read this and offer some suggestions/help
hey guys,
just to let you all know i finally got the car stated. we found out what was the problem. the flywheel was put on incorrectly as a result the cranksharft sensor was reading the timing of the engine incorrectly causing the car to misfire because the flywheel is a part of the engine timing system.
I just came back from spending a week in Jamaica. I was driving a Toyota rental car and kept thinking how much fun it would be to have my 08E90M3 there. Crazy drivers. Saw some nice cars, but not a lot — a new E63 AMG, E92M3, F80M3, new Civic Type R, and a few others. SUV or a car with a flexible suspension seems like a good choice due to the potholes on some roads. My lowered M3 would suffer.
