    (SUNROOF) Clogged Driver Sunroof Drain

    Hi everyone,

I'm still working on my sunroof which impresses me every time with how bad it was conceived.
The latest thing is the drain, specifically the driver one. When i put water on all corners it goes down immediately, except for the front driver one. I tried using a cable, sliding it from the sunroof but it's blocked near the end.

Has anyone ever experienced this issue ? Do you know if I can get access to the drain (and how) from the bottom of the car ?

We used a piece of old speedo cable on a drill, or see were it's supposed to exit using the other side that drains and figure it out front there, don't ya love the plastic sunroof parts.

Haven't done this drain (yet), but I use a piece of 14awg romex wire to clear drains. I pull the cover up a bit so there is no copper sticking out to scratch paint.

If you have an air compressor, use a rubber tip attachment and blow into drain hole using low to medium psi. Hopefully the drainage tube hose clamp is still tightly clamped, otherwise, the air pressure may blow it off the sunroof frame drainage nipple.

I experienced all those issues; so I got rid of the sunroof. Now no problems.

The sunroof is one area that I have yet to look at. Not particularly looking forward to it either. Did you have a custom headliner made, or were you able to buy one of the last sunroof delete headliners?

    Update on this:
    - There isn't access from where the water exits on the bottom of the car. You will find an exit port behind the side skirt, but it is just a drain hole for the side of the underbody which is welded shut.
    - I finally got it with a metal cable from the top. It's better but still not the greatest flow. I do have 3 other drains on the car and live in the south of France so why not
    - If yours was really completely stuck near the exit: I think you should remove the side skirt, cut the underbody to get access to the hole and unclog it, weld back the underbody and put the side skirt back.

Or if the sunroof is not that big of a deal to you, just make your car lighter and quieter by deleting it. It would probably be a lot cheaper and way more reliable.
