Hello all, I am looking for some advice. I have a 92 525i and am planning on lowering the car, and refreshing the suspension. My first question is should I go with coilovers or just lowering springs and new struts. The current plan is to lower it 1.5" to 2". I want it lowered but do not want it slammed or care about having the tires flush. I want the car to have a little more performance for the weekends or the rare track day, but still want to be able to take the car on a trip or drive it around town. My other question relates to the wheel/tire setup. I am wanting to run a set of staggered Rondell 58's on the car, the specs for the wheels are 5x120 R18 8.5J ET13 & 10J ET19. Getting the fenders rolled is no problem, so I am wondering what tire sizes I should run with the car being lowered on this set. Any advice would be nice, since this is my first project car. Apologies if this topic has been covered millions of times but I was getting conflicting information on the topic. Thank you for any advice.

As for tires: I would go with 235/40/18 front and 275/35/18 rear, those sizes are probably your best bet. You shouldn't need to roll the fenders.
or if your looking for a little more meat on the tires, 245/40/18 front and 285/35/18 rear.
Edit - Your selection of an 18x8.5 ET13 wheel on the front is perfect fitment on the e34 without poking out from the fender. I'm not sure what the optimal offset in the rear is for 10" wide wheels

i run similar specs to this on vogtland springs in my 525. i do run a 12mm spacer in the rear but my fenders are slightly pulled.
Thanks for the advice guys. After reading through some posts I think I am going to go with vogtland springs and koni shocks.
I just bought some vogtland springs, do they run stiff Hofmeister?
