I sold mine.
Lets get the party started before it's my bedtime.
daam must have been a sad day
It was, miss it already. From what I sold to what I've seen for sale, it's night and day difference. There are some real s**sleds out there. I only buy the best I can find and only sell it when it's better. I had this 740 for over 5 years, a long time for me. I'm going to take my time and something will come along. The 740 sure was the highlight of the BMW line.

740 line interior like a "museum" if kept up
Did a new fluid/filter with the Transgo pressure regulator on my 01, vastly improved the shifts. too bad it took me 6hrs lmao.

Realized that whenever I washed my windshield with the washer fluid it was always yellow. Car is taken apart so the tank was exposed. Took it off, water rushed everywhere. Looked inside the tank, was full of brown/yellow algae. Threw out the tank and ordered a new one. Wasn’t worth cleaning. The pipe was full of algae too. Put a stopper in the pipe, filled it up to the brim with bleach, let it sit for 15 min, and then flushed it multiple times with boiling water. No more algae.

Replaced the driver door panel that was separating at the top of the door card due to age. This took me way too long due to my 2 tone setup...
Pulled the MK4 navigation module and sent it out for repair (loading mechanism is failing...).
Getting ready this week to replace the rear right regulator with a new VDO unit.

Just keeping it reliable and looking decent.
Been a little distracted from Big Red as of late as I had a rental vacancy that I had to remove 30+ yards of trash from (5x 6yd dumpsters overflowing with trash from the house and the garage) so work on the car has been low on the priority list, but I did get 4 Monsoons in today, to replace the rear deck subs. My plan is to replace the speakers, and re-dye the back shelf as it is terribly faded. Rear sunscreen is working well, so I don't plan on messing with that, but is there anything else I should be doing back there while I have the rear apart?
If you have problems with algae growth in a water system, a wee bit of fabric softener or hair conditioner in the water will help to kill off the bacteria. The chemistry is basically the same as benzalkonium chloride used as the preservative in medicinal products. I've used it for years and no nasty smells from the washers.
I usually use that blue windshield wash. Nothing seems to grow in it. But in this area it seems to get used pretty regularly.
I couldn't stay away for long. Just bought a 2001 sport. Black/ black, every option and it looks and drives great. Pics to follow. I just like these cars so much, and with all these options it should be better. Plus, I've got so many wheel sets that will fit.

I diagnosed Marina with a dying EML. And since it's a 2001, it's the final E31/E38 version and pretty much impossible to find outside of dealer price...
Part number is 12711430168 (9/1998 and up).

Thanks for the heads up mate! I ordered a new pump and a brand new tank. The old one had mushrooms and algae inside, very nasty and wasn't worth washing it. I just forked over $40 USD for a new tank.
That is what I use. No idea where the previous owner got his water from. Possibly from a lake. It was nasty cleaning it all up.
Almost done tweaking the rear suspension components. Once I'm done, will need to install new regulators and fix a leak in one of my doors. After that it will be time to focus on the exterior finally and hopefully it will be presentable Transporter style.
