I finally did a suspension refresh on mine! I had the 20 piece Lemforder control arm kit installed from fcp euro, along with Bilstein B4 shocks and struts plus Vogtland springs. These springs lowered it 1.3” all around.

What a difference!

Similarly had the rest of the 20 piece Meyle kit installed plus Bilstein B6 and H&R Stage 1. Will post pics after an alignment and suspension settling. Cheers!

^From what I've read, the B6 shocks, give the car a jarring ride. Combined with H&R may be too tight for this car, but we all have our own desires. My DINAN needs new shocks and I'm thinking of staying stock Sachs. Its already a tight enough ride.

Original sport shocks arent cheap. I dont think SACHS offers a sport version only genuine is available, so I chose to go with Bilstein B4s which are comparable with the stock sport shocks...

Thats the reason i didnt want to use the B6’s. I had them on my 95’ 740i many years ago and the ride was pretty stiff, and that was with factory coils. Maybe that was a bad combo?

The B4’s are supposed to be 10% stiffer than the factory Sachs and the Vogtland coils are 15% stiffer than the factory sport coils, from what i’ve read. The ride is real nice. Way less body roll than before and still absorb bumps and potholes really well. I’m also on 19’s.

5HP18 started slipping on 3th few days ago...I've been prepping the another transmission for swap. I changed out some seals. Front one hasn't arrived yet.

How many kilometers on your 5hp18? I'm at 140k on mine and about to do a fluid / filter change, along with the little selector valve that has swelled and seized in it. If you're putting another 5hp18 into it, DEFINITELY get that selector valve and replace it at the same time with the updated metal version!! Save yourself the headache down the line;

Mine has 317tkm. Only third gear is slipping with full throttle. I'm going to replace the tranny tomorrow, so no time to get that part for now, but I'm going to attempt to fix the other transmission, so will do it for that.

Took the old transmission out today. But as my wife had some things to today, I had to come home with my kid, so will be installing "new" transmission tomorrow.

Good stuff man and I can’t believe how heavy these transmissions are exhaust pipes have some weight to them as well glad to see you changed your rear main seal when I did mine I changed everything I can put hands on.

All good maintenance. I had to have the rear main replaced on my 2007 Avalanche several months ago. I was pissed when I picked it up and found out they did not replace the front seal on the tranny while it was out. Seemed dumb - thay said if you don't ask we don't do it. I would say don't you think it would be a good idea if we do replace the front tranny seal as well. The seal would be cheap at that point.
